PPE manufacturers continue to push the envelope of arc ratings with some over 100 cal/cm2

This week’s question is simple.

What is the highest arc rating of PPE that you/clients use?

8 cal/cm2
12 cal/cm2
40 cal/cm2
65 cal/cm2
Over 65 cal/cm2
Doesn’t Apply

I have customers using 65 and greater PPE, however they have an operational limit of 40. In their minds they need a safety margin.

Working with a PPE manufacturer, it seems like 65 is becoming "the new 40"

I'm sure the trend will continue as material gets lighter and better.
