This photo that I took might give OSHA or the NFPA 70E committee new ideas. Downloaded From: [Facebook]

OSHA wouldn't be interested unless somehow it said "safety blue collar worker" at work. Perhaps you are on to something Jim, to promote engineering, because it is often counter productive that the electrical professionals are governed by blue collar authorities in the USA.

Come on guys. Dave Wallis is a professional writing the standards. I do realize sometimes the OSHA cowboys aren't that good but most are trying to make things safer.

This was intended to be a humorous photo certainly not directed at anyone. So far, everyone seems to have loved it as based on the private messages and emails I received. It is unfortunate that a specific person’s name had to be associated with it. It seems similar to someone making a joke about airline food (very common joke subject) and then someone suddenly bringing an airline employee's name into the conversation making it personal. Dave Wallis. is an exceptional person. He made a great presentation for all of us at the last IEEE 1584 meeting and has done a lot for the industry.

I just used this photo as well as the other photo of the swimming pool in a short presentation today. They both went over quite well and were good for a few chuckles. Thanks for posting the pictures.

I “borrowed” the photo last Friday for a safety meeting. The OSHA/NFPA reference was pretty funny but the real joke was about the words “at work” and the conversation quickly degraded to the usual “which one of you actually works” etc. followed by a debate about using the word “Danger” instead of “Caution”. Great comic relief for a Friday afternoon before a 3 day weekend.
