Are the new LED safety glasses allowed under the hood or behind the face sheild? Electrical rooms most of the time are poorly lit, when you add sunglasses , it makes it that much worse working with PPE on.
My opinion:
No reason why they wouldn't be allowed as long as they meet all ANSI requirements. The faceshield or hood is the primary source of protection during an arc flash event. Having an LED style pair of glasses under your primary PPE would not impair the function of the the protective system as long as the LED body doesn't extend outside the faceshield in particular (the hood is totally enclosed).
