We have done arc flash calculations for all of our quarries and have been successful at mitigating most Electrical panels to be under 8 Cal/cm and provide our electrical techs with 8 Cal/cm clothing. We have a very few situations with a higher than 8 Cal/cm, but have no need to enter those enclosures with power on and have done a great job with labeling as well as training to kill power before working in those areas.

Great to hear! Controlling the risk by reducing the incident energy and establishing an electrically safe work condition are the way to go! Electrical safety has evolved so much over the years. I still recall the days of "The incident energy is... dress for it"
