We need your help! A recent subject of discussion and sometimes debate concerns the success of the use of the 2002 edition of IEEE 1584 in preventing injury.
Do you or your friends, colleagues etc. know of any cases where IEEE 1584 has been correctly used for selecting PPE, the PPE was properly used and an injury still resulted? Please ask around and survey your friends too. We are looking for as much information as we can find.
Have you heard of any cases where IEEE 1584 was used for PPE selection and an injury resulted from an arc flash?
- ·Yes - there was an injury
- ·No - IEEE 1584 and the PPE worked
- ·I don’t know of any arc flash events
If you answered “Yes”, we would love to know the details. If this is something you do not wish to discuss on a public form, please contact me at
jphillips@brainfiller.com so it can be kept private.
This information is very important - Thanks!
