I know that we are to install arc flash labels on equipment. Can anyone direct me to where this is called out in either NFPA 70E or 29 CFR 1910.269? I have looked and I cannot find it. |

NFPA 70E-2015 Article 130.5(D) OSHA 1910.269 is the utility regulations and in the preamble OSHA discusses labeling and is not in favor of it for utilities. They believe that the information is better conveyed in the pre job brief prior to arriving at the job site. |

The legal requirement in most locations comes from NEC (NFPA 70), rather than 70E. The major difference is that 70E is a standard, not a regulatory requirement. NEC in contrast is adopted as law/regulation in all 50 states. The requirement is in Article 110. This sort of preempts both OSHA and NFPA 70E. |

as per the others. You will find this in the NEC. If you happen to have Canadian operations it is in the CEC Part 1, Rule 2-306. Basically the same or very similar wording as to the NEC |
