I have a piece of 15kV switchgear (indoors) that feed some utility style transformers (outside). Do I need to label the air terminal compartments on the transformers? Also, do we need a label on the motor termination box? Basically, I am coming out of the building (the disconnect) to the motor termination which are bolted. |

I don't have the standard handy but I label items that could be worked on energized. For a transformer it is highly unlikely that anyone would be working on the terminals while it is energized, except for possibly verifying voltage prior to grounding. The same goes for a motor connection box. |

I would label them, remmember even verifing equipment de-energized is energized work, so to check for voltage and install grounds the proper PPE and ESWP's should be followed, and the label should be there. However, I know what will get "counter-posted" on this and it is hard to argue with that also. IMO, anything with a removable cover should be labeled. |

Label all motor connection boxes? Do you label for example a 5 HP motor connection box? Ifyou do, how do you affix the label to this small area? |
