I've known about these switches in this old house for at least 15 years but never took any pics. I was over there today and thought I would share to see if they are common in other parts of the country. Out east maybe? I've only seen these switches in this one house here in Indiana. The house was built in 1931. I assume these are original to the building but don't know for sure.

Yes, they are manufactured by the same company you're thinking of.

My guess their withstand rating is one slight blow of wind from falling apart, especially for the last one :D I thinks they should have been replaced long time ago.

You're probably right. On both counts! I don't think any of them are actually live anymore. Just never got removed.

I like finding old stuff like this. I would have never guess Colt Firearms made electrical stuff and things. I did a little reading about it and it seems they diversified for a short while during the depression to keep from closing the doors. Not too many people were buying guns during that time I guess.

Oh, I also read in the same article Colt also made fuses. There were a few fuses laying around over there but I didn't think to look to see who the manufacturer was. I should do that.
