| Post subject: | Using CAPE for Arc Flash Studies |
I'm helping with an Arc Flash study and using a program called CAPE to do the calculations. I have a problem with the relay operating times being abnormally large and falling above a 12 cal. level. Does anyone have experience with this program? The problem I'm having is the program automatically uses the highest relay operating time multiplied by the fault current in a close-in station fault. Many of the operating times acceed 400 cycles (based on American 60 cycle system). This seems, to me, to be abnormal. This large time affects the cal. level by making it higher than it really ought to be. I have looked at some of the macros assigned to the task of defining the highest operating time, but can't seem to modify them so they give me what it is I want. Does anyone have enough experience with CAPE to help me with this problem. Thank you in advance. |

CAPE is a relay management software program. Can't vouch for anything it does arc-flash related. |
