Coverall question

NFPA 70E 130.7(C)(13)b) clearly says that a face shield without arc rating shall not be used. Now, when you buy one, the ATPV is clearly written on the face shield side.

I thought it was the same for coveralls but I can't find where it's written, if it is... Was it in NFPA 70E 2004?

So, is it a problem if someone buy a 8.2 cal/cm2 FR coverall and if this ATPV is not written on the coverall label?

ASTM F 1506 says that a garment can meet ASTM F 1506 only if the label publishes an APTV or EBT value, and the label must say that the garment meets ASTM F 1506.

NFPA 70E says that to be considered arc rated, a garment must meet ASTM F 1506.

Buyer beware, there a number of products coming in from foriegn countries that claim to be FR and Arc rated. If they don't meet the 1506 standard then stear clear to protect yourself.

Garments must meet the following requirements under ASTM F1506:

*Components of the garment must be flame resistant.
*Metal components can not be exposed to the wearer.
*Labels requiring the manufactures name, cut number and date of manufacturing.
*Labels must state the garment meets ASTM F1506.
*Labels must indicate the Arc Rating of the garment either as a single layer or combination.
*FR Thread must be used in the construction of the garment.
